Death valley in Nida, Curonian spit - 1

Updated 31 May, 2022

This valley is situated between Parnidis Dune and Glide-flyers’ Dune. French camp of war prisoners was established there in 1870-1872. Due to bad imprisonment conditions, exhaustion, and diseases many prisoners died. They were buried right in the camp cemetery, therefore the valley got this name.
